Handling Instructions

  1. Glass should be shipped, handled and installed in dry conditions.

  2. Do not use alcohol on sandblasted glass. Reference Cleaning Instructions for more information.

  3. Opening must be free from any residue or contamination: oil, grease, wax, water, wet paint, stain, dust, caulking, etc....

  4. Any contact with sandblasted surface should be avoided.

  5. If contacting sandblasted surface is unavoidable, use clean cotton gloves. They leave less chance for contamination. Rubber gloves transfer dirt and oil. Handle glass by the edges whenever possible.

  6. Use suction cup only on the non-blasted areas.

  7. Insure glass is clean when installed in areas where access is or will be restricted from cleaning.

  8. Inspect all glass for defects prior to installation.

  9. Do not attach any labels, tape, protector pads or other items with adhesive to sandblasted surfaces.

  10. Glass with sealer coating is slightly more tolerant of adverse conditions, yet care is still necessary to maintain product integrity. Cleaning is different.

  11. If cleaning is required, do not rub sandblasted surface with any material that will leave residue: paper towel, dust clothes, etc.... Call Milestone for cleaning instructions for sandblasted glass, with or without sealer coatings.

  12. Failure to maintain a clean sandblasted glass will result in a poor looking job. Milestone will NOT be responsible for product stored, installed or handled improperly.

  13. Shipping and storing sandblasted glass in crates is not recommended.

  14. Protect all sandblasted glass from humidity and direct water contact and other damaging conditions prior to, during and after installation.
